Jeff and I both teach preschool Sunday school and attend 11 am Room211 services. We are going south for more opportunities to serve the youth of our congregation.

We're going south partly because we live south, and ever since they announced the new church location, we felt God calling us to be missionaries to the new location. Here we are, send us.

We are making the move to Room211 South because we believe it presents a great missionary opportunity for Room211 and CLC to reach unchurched people with the Gospel. We have a been attending Room211 for two and half years and have been members for 18 months. During this time, we have grown dramatically in our faith and in our fellowship with other Christians while attending the service. We have been so blessed that we feel like we now need to offer other people that same blessing and opportunity. We will actually be driving farther to get to church, but that is not the point, we are not going because it is closer to where we live, we are going because we feel like we feel we are being called by God to help reach unchurched people in south Lincoln.

To be honest when the reAct campaign came out I was totally against it. I enjoyed coming to church and being with my church family, and didn't want that to change. Despite my feelings against the campaign, I prayed like I was asked to do. Slowly God worked on my heart. The first nudge came as I was reading my bible study material "Not a Fan" by Kyle Idleman. He states Jesus doesn't just want us to be a fan of his, but to be a follower. A follower to follow him South... The second nudge came to me as I was thinking about Room211 and how much is has affected me and my families life. As we have said before it has been "life changing." We were not attending Room211 when it first started, but we can be there when the south location begins. That night I came home and told Mike what God had been putting on my heart. He was taken back by what I was telling him given my previous thoughts. He said lets pray about it tonight and talk it over in the morning. When I awoke the next morning I was reading my daily bible verse. It read "For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him" -Philippians 2:13. That was our final nudge telling us to GO South and do what pleases him.

We had been debating and praying over it, and then Rowan (our younger daughter), looked over at Heather and I and very excitedly said, "We should go!"

The first time I came to Room211, it was going to just be for a day. After all what did I need religion for? They told my faith was lacking and I walked away. Hadn’t I convinced myself there was no hole in my heart, nothing missing from my life? This church was going to be just like [my previous] church and I was going to walk out at the end and never come back, right? Except it wasn’t. Every face I saw was friendly. And the music was so beautiful and the message made me cry. Then, Jesus used Room211 to touch my heart. And I really started to believe that there could be a place in church for me. It filled that hole in my heart that only God could fill. Room211 changed my life; it changed my families’ life. We are going South in the hope that in some small way God might use us to be a friendly face on someone else’s first day. And they might also feel the love and acceptance I felt that day, and Room211 South can change their lives like Room211 Central changed ours.
